Oriental myths tend to advocate morality, praise labor and show the people's indomitable spirit. The well-known stories like the Cowherd and the Weaving Maid and the Foolish Old Man who removed the mountains are good examples. Western myths often depict the legends of gods and heroes, showing the unique world outlook and cosmology of the western people. Students know more or less about fairy tales.
